How you feel once Jalan Song Fly over is opening for traffic!

Part of Jalan Tun Jugah flyover would be opened to traffic tomorrow.

【Flyover 90 pct completed, says Yong】
KUCHING: The much-awaited Jalan Tun Jugah-Jalan Song-Jalan Upland Interchange here is 90 per cent completed, said Deputy Works Minister Datuk Yong Khoon Seng.
In a week or two, the flyover project worth RM75 million would offer a comfortable ride for road users, he told journalists after opening the Tabuan Heights Community Association’s annual general meeting at Shiang Fatt T’ng Benevolent Society here yesterday.

The Stampin MP was quick to add: “If the weather is fine in the coming week or so, the project should be completed as scheduled.”

A statement issued by Public Works Department (JKR) last Friday said the interchange would be opened to traffic tomorrow.

It advised road users to take the right lane to guide them to the new flyover, adding: “They are encouraged to allow extra travel time to adjust to the new traffic patterns.”

To mark the opening of the interchange, Minister of Infrastructure Development and Communications Dato Sri Michael Manyin Jawong is expected to perform a ‘drive-through’ ceremony.

The project, which began on March 17, 2011, has brought about inconvenience to road users due to gridlock and potholes near the site.
